Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026
This policy covers the Overheard Culture website and the Overheard Culture Uploader, an internal application that uploads videos to the Overheard Culture YouTube channel using YouTube API Services.
YouTube API Services
The Overheard Culture Uploader uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses the uploader
The uploader is used only by the owner of the Overheard Culture channel to publish that channel's own videos. It is not offered to the public, and it does not request access to anyone else's Google or YouTube account.
Information we access and store
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for the Overheard Culture channel, stored on a private server controlled by the channel owner, used only to upload videos, set thumbnails and update the privacy status of the channel's own videos.
- IDs, titles and publish times of the videos we upload, kept in a local database so the tool doesn't upload the same clip twice.
We do not collect, store or share personal information about viewers or other YouTube users. We do not sell any data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.
Website
This website has no accounts, forms, cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process standard request logs such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Retention and deletion
Tokens are kept until access is revoked. The channel owner can revoke the uploader's access at any time at Google security settings, after which stored tokens stop working; we then delete them from our server. To ask about or request deletion of any data, email us.
Changes
We'll update the date at the top of this page if this policy changes.
